Tour of the beaujolais region & Terroir explainations
At 9:00 am, your 8-seater minibus leaves Bellecour Square in Lyon to the Northern Beaujolais region wine region called CRUS wine area. Start this wine journey travelling on the beautiful Beaujolais "Route des Vins" and with your guide learn about the "terroir" (french philosphy for wine), history, geography and the different characteristics of the Beaujolais wines appellations.
Drive through "Moulin-à-Vent" Crus, represended by its emblematic windmill from the 15th century surrounded by vineyards. In this area of Beaujolais, vines grow on granit soils with veins of Manganese which gives more tannic and deeper wines.
Follow this wine trip in Fleurie village with a stop at La Madone Chapel and enjoy a breathtaking panaroma of the Beaujolais wine region: on clear days, you may have the chance to see the Alps and the Mount Blanc!
