Beaujolais Wine country and visit of Oingt Medieval Town

At 9:00 am, your 8-seater minibus leaves Bellecour Square in Lyon to the south of the Beaujolais region. After 30 min transfer, start this lyon wine-tasting tour driving through one of the prettiest wine countries in France called the Beaujolais Golden Stones region.

Travel through beautiful rolling hills dotted with secular vineyards, cross several quaint medieval towns built in a gorgeous golden ochre stone: Chatillon, Chessy, Bagnols, etc. And make a couple of stops to enjoy beautiful panoramic views over the Beaujolais wine country.

Then, visit Oingt medieval town listed as one of the “157 Most Beautiful Villages in France” and stroll through a warren of little streets hosting many artists and craftsmen boutiques. With you english speaking wine guide born in Lyon, learn about history, geography and the french philosophy for wine called terroir.

Stop at two wineries, wine-tasting of Sparkling, white, rosé & red Beaujolais:

Follow this morning wine tour from Lyon with a first winery cellar where you will get to be introduced to the unknown Beaujolais sparkling white and rosé. With your guide, learn the different basic steps of the subtle art of sniffing, swirling and sipping and how French wines are classified between generic, villages and crus appellations.

After a short drive, push the door of a second beaujolais vineyard, meet a passionate wine-maker and immerse yourself in French history and tradition. Learn about gamay grape varietal and the unique beaujolais wine making process called "semi-carbonic maceration" when grapes are all picked by hand and not crushed at all.

Finally go to the family wine-tasting room and enjoy 4-5 wines including a white, a rosé and red Beaujolais wines in a great authentic atmosphere.
