Morning

Visit of Perouges Medieval Town & wine-tasting of sparklings

At 9:00 am, your small group tour minibus leaves Place Bellecour in Lyon and transfer you to Perouges medieval town (40 minutes)

Start the morning with the visit of this preserved-in-amber medieval town background of many films including the 3 Musketeers. 

With your guide, walk along cobblestone streets and discover the main monuments and the ancient houses from the XIII to the XVI century.

 Learn about Perouges history and imagine how was life few centuries ago. On main square, take a bit of time to grab a coffee or piece of Galette, the local speciality.

Then, travel to Beaujolais wine region crossing La Dombes region, a beautiful landscape.

At 11:30 am, make a first stop at a Beaujolais wine estate to taste sparkling wines called Crémant de Bourgogne. Learn about the wine-making method as you delight yourselves with 4 wines.

Savour a delicious meal in a typical Beaujolais "Bistrot" restaurant which serves regional cuisine. Lunch is not included. Menu of the day from € 22-25 / pers.

Afternoon

Visit of Oingt Medieval town and wine-tasting at a beaujolais family Estate

In the early afternoon, visit the lovely picturesque village of Oingt, a quaint medieval towns built in ochre-coloured stones. Enjoy panoramic views of stunning landscapes with rolling hills dotted with vineyards and stroll through the pedestrian streets with orignal names.

Then, open the door of a family winery and immerse yourself in history, “terroir” and tradition meeting the winemaker himself.

 Learn about vine works and the wine-making process of Beaujolais called semi-carbonic fermentation. 

Finally, enjoy a wine-tasting of 5 Beaujolais wines including a white chardonnay, a rosé and 3 reds gamay before coming back to Lyon.  Friendly atmosphere guaranteed!

Let me just say that this is by far the best Tourist Guide in Lyon. My wife and I did 3 tours with Olivier and he was phenomenal.
Go directly to his website and choose the tour you want or just contact him for a private tour. He is very flexible and easy to work with.

We took a day trip to the Beaujolais region with Olivier and five other guests. We visited Chessy and Perouges and two wineries. We also stopped for an excellent lunch. The leaves on the vines had turned colour but had not yet fallen and provided an excellent backdrop for our photos. Olivier showed us several views for photos that we would never have found on our own. He also organised a tour of the vineyards by the 10 th generation owner of a family vineyard to explain how the grapes are grown and how the wine is made. Afterwards, we went to his tasting room and Olivier led a tasting of the wines made at the winery (the second of the day). We also visited Chessy and Perouges, which were different but both ancient and incredibly beautiful. Olivier explained the history and pointed out some interesting details. It was a very good day.

It was a great day out - the beautiful villages visited, the lovely wine tastings, the stunning scenery as well as Oliver's excellent explanations and very nice manner. Oliver is very professional and full of local knowledge, as well as being very patient and attentive! He's one of the best tour guides we've ever had - he's down to earth and a pleasure to talk to. He made sure we could visit toilets everywhere, which was great! The restaurant for lunch was a lovely experience and very delicious! Excellent tasting and very reasonably priced. The other guests were in excellent company and it was a very enjoyable day!!! (and of course the Beaujolais wine is delicious!! ) Highly recommended!!
