The wines of Lyon region

In the morning or in the afternoon, our wine expert welcomes you in his lovely tasting room located in the heart of Vieux-Lyon district or or another meeting facility if we need to.

The course begins with a general presentation of the wine regions surrounding Lyon, the grape varietals they grown and the names of the different appellations d'origines controlés (AOC).

To the north, Burgundy, Mâconnais, Beaujolais; to the south the region and the wines of Ardèche; to the east, the wines of Jura and Savoy and to the west, the Coteaux du Lyonnais.

Then, participants begin a beautiful tasting of 6 wines carefully selected by us for their quality, the respect for nature and the wine-maker passion.

Here is an example of wine-tasting we do: a chardonnay from Mâcon, a viognier from the Rhône Valley, a gamay from Beaujolais, a pinot noir from the Côte Châlonnaise, a syrah and a sparkling wine from the Côtes du Rhône.

A small cheese and cold meats platter accompanies the tasting and allows some surprising food and wine pairings.

Each participant will be given a wine-tasting notebook with geographical maps and a summary of the explanations.

During the tasting, group members give their impressions and tastes and our wine expert answers general and technical questions in a nice and fun atmosphere.
